Challenges for 2009

During 2000 ~ 2002 we have shown that the methods we introduced during coaching of projects work: projects learn to deliver Quality on Time and keep doing it. However, this proves that it works in countries and cultures like Holland and Belgium and mainly with software, electronics hardware and embedded systems development projects, with up to 20 people in a team.

During 2003 we have extended the range of experience to a research project at a client in Washington-DC, USA and a mechanical satellite instrument project in the Netherlands. We also did some Evo Tutorials in Hyderabad and Bangalore, India. We coached 14 projects in 7 different organizations.

During 2004 we presented lectures and workshops at various conferences (Incose-Toulouse, Gilb-London, SD-Boston, PNSQC-PortlandOR, OGI-Beaverton-OR, DQSC-SaltLakeCity) and started with a new large customer in the USA.

During 2005 we again presented at several occasions: Incose-Rochester-NY, Gilb-London, SD-Boston, PNSQC-PortlandOR, KIvI/NIRIA-Netherlands, VVSS2005-Netherlands. New customer in Ireland.

During 2006: Evo workshop for Incose-Israel. Presentations at PSQT-LasVegas, OGI-Beaverton-OR, 2 Beaverton companies, Rose-City (Portland) SPIN, ESEPG-Amsterdam, Incose-Orlando, SD-Boston, Conquest-Berlin, SPIder-Zeist/Netherlands. More experience with streamlining the QA process. Interesting projects in very small organizations (example: 4 software developers very eager to professionalize their way of working and getting rid of injecting defects). Experienced a project in Japan.

During 2007: Evo workshop at Incose-Israel SE conference. Presentations at ESEPG-Amsterdam, Incose-San Diego, SD-Boston, Unicom-London, PNSQC-PortlandOR. Inspection training at company in Romania. Elaborated and deepened TimeLine process for getting and keeping projects under control. A question for review training ended up in teaching the Design process. Ran a 4-evening course "Planning Software Projects Succesfully" twice for the Delft IT Circle (group of about 100 IT companies within the city of Delft). Will be repeated next year. Coached 17 projects, with 2 to 20 members, at 10 organisations in 3 countries.

In 2008: Presented another 4-evening course in Delft. Went to the INCOSE International Workshop in Albuquerque-NM, to prepare for the IS08 in Utrecht. Presented tutorials at SPA2008 (UK), INCOSE-SA Conference, Pretoria, South-Africa and at a company in Kyoto. Presented a poster at ESEPG Munich. Organized the Tool Vendor Challenge at the INOCSE International Symposium in Utrecht. Paper about Human Behavior in Projects at APCOSE, Yokohama. Paper and panel about TimeLine at IPMA Congress, Rome. Presented a two day Evo Workshop in Shanghai. Presented  two day review workshops in Bucharest and Munich. Coached various projects in Holland and Ireland.

Until now, we educated and coached over 100 projects in over 25 organizations in the Netherlands, Belgium, China, Germany, Ireland, India, Israel, Japan, Romania, South-Africa and the USA.

Note that the methods used to deliver Quality on Time are universal and by no means limited to software development.

The challenges for 2009 remain to find more projects to coach in even more countries, cultures, types and even larger and multi-site projects. We will also elaborate on and deepen the Design as well as the TimeLine processes. Note that TimeLine provides invaluable information for decision making in Program Management.

Before I can write my book on the practical application of the methods I coach, I need more experience with the particularities, and how to apply the methods successfully in those cases.

Who dares to take the challenge to try coaching of his projects or to provide much better information to Program Management?
Why hesitate? I guarantee you that also you will see success growing within a few weeks! This is what other clients found out before you.

Remember, part of Quality on Time delivery is a "No cure - no pay" attitude. Therefore, to set the right example, I work also according to "No cure - no pay". So, what's your risk?

Contact me to discuss your situation and how we could make your environment deliver Quality on Time, which is: the right results at the time agreed.
